page 939 – and they talk and they talk and they talk
UUUUUGH, I was so SURE this page would finally be the one to break the cycle of lateness. I had the whole thing inked and in the computer WAY ahead of schedule, and it’s all flashbacks and Ichabod’s dimly-lit room, so I could get away with slapping gradients onto everything instead of real coloring! How could this page NOT get done quickly? Easy, I got sidetracked with the Voting Incentive again. I kept experimenting with coloring stuff without any real plan on where those experiments were supposed to lead, which just resulted in repeatedly starting over from scratch. The next thing I knew, it was 3am, the main comic still wasn’t done, and I was too sleepy to actually get started. Crap.
Also, Mariska’s expodump triggers a flashback to ANOTHER expodump. Clearly, this is some of my best writing ever.
(Historical Notes: At one point, this page had Ichabod calling Mariska a “fully certified Nitplicker.” That’s the kind of expert quality control you can expect from a guy as sharp and well-rested as Past Me clearly was here.)
