page 677 – hitting it always works
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: technobabble is really stupid, but I like it anyway. Have fun figuring out which ones are references to things, and which ones I just made up off the top of my head.
Also, you are incorrect, Skye. You said “scary” not “creepy”.
Anyway, by the time you read this, I should be back from Anime Weekend Atlanta. If we’re really lucky, I might already have the Conventional Wisdom update finished too. Like, amazingly, mind-bogglingly lucky…
(Historical Note: There were several typos to clean up on this page, including “rigamaroll.” By some standards, the corrected version is still wrong, as apparently “rigmarole” and “rigamarole” are both out there as proper spellings. The difference is, pasting an “e” over the existing text was a LOT simpler than removing an “a” and having to reposition the whole line of text. Laziness prevails!)
Trigger having creepy levels of ability to purposefully destroy tech whenever he wants is the best trait an adorable little cinnamon bun like Trigger could have in a Sci-Fi setting. He’s the friendly adora-brat who wouldn’t hurt a fly, but could cheerfully deactivate the power grid of an entire city (or planet) for fun!
And probably not consider the massive consequences of his little city-power-grid-deactivating prank until Layla has to lecture him about it later. Possibly while fleeing that particular solar system at high speed.
…and Layla would probably still keep the ugliest details to herself, justto make sure he doesn’t feel bad.
Also, I now need to have somebody actually call Trigger “an adorable little cinnamon bun” at some point.
