This page was actually supposed to have a lot more characters in the background, but CERTAIN CHARACTERS mysteriously took up a lot more space than anticipated.
But yeah, for as long as it may take to actually make it through a given plot in this comic, let it never be said that I don’t have at least the broad strokes of the NEXT one figured out. At least, enough to start sprinkling little details in to provide the illusion of a broader plan.
Oh, we know you have the generalities of the plot sorted out, that’s been made clear through the numerous times you’ve shown us as-yet-unintroduced extras in the non-cannon things like the Christmas Parties.
It’s just that what you think is going to be a six month plot ends up taking three years to get through. Which is kind of why we’re so confident that you have the future plot points ready to go. You’re unintentionally planning three to six years ahead while thinking you’re only planning a year ahead, at most.
I think the bigger problem is more that I don’t think about it in terms of “six months” OR “three years” or any other concrete time measurement. in my head, it’s all just plot arcs and story beats and moments balanced against other moments. It’s only when I actually start drawing it out that I finally realize just what a ridiculous amount of real life time it’ll all take.
