The Far Out There Staff Office Christmas Party – page 14
No, seriously, I really AM trying to get back into that twice-a-week groove again. With the new story arc looming in particular, having an extra page a month would REALLY help with pacing. It’s just a matter of staying consistent with a steady workflow in order to actually stay on top of that kind of a schedule again. basically, I want to build up a buffer of extra pages before committing to the new update schedule again, to help with when I inevitably slip up and fall behind. On the one hand, the fact that I was able to get MOST of these extra Christmas pages done while also doing the weekly comics shows that I am capable of maintaining that sort of workload again. But on the other hand, the very fact that I HAVE been working on these means that I didn’t have time to do any extra REGULAR comics. And so on and so forth and blah blah blah.

Sometime in 2027 is currently your best guess, and that’s if the story’s nearly up to the point where you’ll be introduced.
For what it’s worth, I have been able to use what down time I’ve had the past few weeks to start building up a buffer of comic material… at least in pencil form. It remains to be seen if I’ll have ENOUGH downtime for it to result in enough finished comics to actually effect the update schedule in the near future.
If I actually CAN get back to twice a week, then we could start seeing these people in… mid-to-late 2026. Let’s not be unrealistic about things here.
It wasn’t your update schedule that I felt that I was commenting on, but your ability to take a plot point and make it last at least three times as many pages as you initially intended. And that’s a singular plot point, the extensions to the actual story arcs are even wilder.
Not that I’m complaining, the add-on’s are interesting and the extra pages are often either a great gag, the result of a sudden life-crisis or a page imagined as one needing to be spread into two or sometimes even three pages for the sake of pacing and clear communication.
Just as soon as I will that Powerball Lotto I’ll upgrade to the $5,000/month Patreon tier and you can get back to the original 3 days a week schedule! Of course, that’s not counting any Patreon extras I might request at the $5k/month tier 😉
