The Far Out There Christmas Parade – page 5
Bet you were wondering where Trigger was going to fit into this whole parade thing, huh? Well, you know Trigger. He doesn’t really “fit in” anyplace, which has never really stopped him before!
Oh, and Philip Freeman here is actually a call-back to 2011’s Stilez vs. Christmas. He was one of the people she kidnapped, the rest of whom you’d do well to remember too!
I just checked on SmackJeeves, and nobody responded to my comment there, so I’ll try asking here – does anybody have a clue why one of those christmas trees seems to be in a bell jar?
Because SCIENCE! 😀
Heck, there might not actually even be a tree in there. It might just be some elaborate optical illusion created by light passing through the external container.
It’s possible that it’s a tree from a planet with a different atmosphere/environment where the air is much hotter or colder or toxic or under 500 atmospheres of pressure or under and ocean of liquid methane and if not kept in it’s original environment it will crumble or burst into flames or violently explode.
However, the most likely explanation is that it is a product of Mad Christmas Tree Science and the blue gas is a Mutagen Suppressor. If not continually kept in the blue gas when exposed to the normal atmosphere it will rapidly evolve into a horrific giant mutant tree monster, devouring everything in sight.
(I think it’s been at least implied at some point in the past that the person the galaxy knows as Mild-Mannered Christmas Tree Otaku Philip Freeman is in reality some sort of deranged Mad Tree Scientist)
Yeah, I was looking for a way to excuse using him in a non-holiday context, and making him less about “CHRISTMAS trees” and more just trees in general seems the best way to do it. Ironically, it now seems a bit out of character for him to be showing off those metallic/non-plant-based trees at all.
Those are all plant-based trees bioengineered to absorb metals from the soil and grow to look like metallic trees. Because MAD (tree) SCIENCE!
Also, it seems Christmas Trees confined under a dome of glowing chemicals is a Holiday Tradition in some circles:
