Spoopyween 2023
Happy Spooky, everyone! Have fun buying big bags of candy at clearance prices tomorrow!
I’m writing this a week in the past, and hopefully by the time you read it I’ll be back from Anime Weekend Atlanta in one piece and not struck down with con crud. Just in case you missed me saying so last week, there will sadly NOT be a second page of Far Out There to make up for this one taking the usual update slot. I hate doing that, but as soon as I get, I’ll have to dive straight into working on Conventional Wisdom stuff, not to mention getting a head start on all the OTHER holiday stuff over the next few months. That said, I’ll definitely TRY to get back into the groove of fresh TWC Voting Incentives every week again, so be sure to check back here on Friday to see how that goes. Wish me luck and/or sleep!
EDIT: Apologies in advance, but there’s not a new Voting Incentive this week after all. I was all set to start working on one tonight… and all of a sudden one of my hard drives started failing, so it looks like I’ll be taking care of THAT all night instead. Don’t worry, it LOOKS like nothing of consequence will end up being lost (certainly nothing comic related) but it’s still not the kind of thing I can take care of while multi-tasking on some other project. DANG IT. Next week for sure!
Gright is bad at the best of times, and now there’s Zombie Gright? Well, since he should be Gright the Homicide Doll instead of Gright the Suicide Doll, it does make sense that he would want to come back from the grave to get revenge against those who killed him and bribed people until his murder was written off as suicide.
:p
Is it ironic that a zombie child is frightened by the sight of Braaaaaaaains?
(Yes, I know the kids are not that type of zombie, they’re the other type, but still, they’re kind of like cousins or something…zombie scared of zombies.)
Does this remind Layla too much of the “recycled pets” business she used to oversee?
Oh wow, I never even THOUGHT of the Alphonse angle to that. That’s a good point!
Honestly, it would be more terrifying to Alphonse. Zombie Gright is unintelligent and being eaten by worms. A common animal that is seen as harmless finds you tasty, while everyone around you thinks of something similar to you as a monster. That’s enough to give nightmares to adults, let alone children.
