Page… wait, WHAT?!?!?!?
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I’ve never been that big on April Fools pranks in real life, mainly because I’m a TERRIBLE liar. But dishonesty thrives on the internet!
To tell the truth, the though DID occur a while ago that, if I got bored and wanted to bail out, this would be a potential way to instantly wrap up any and all story-lines. But there’s no way I’d actually give up on all these stories and characters so callously (what do you think this is? Bonus Stage?)
Anyway, if you’re tuning in late and are wondering where the heck page 138 is, don’t worry. Tuesday’s update went exactly as scheduled, so just hop back a page. And don’t worry about Friday either, page 139 will be up on schedule too (wait, I actually got THREE pages done this week?)
(Historical Notes: Man, it’s weird enough seeing all these webcomics that have withered up and died SINCE these pages were originally written, it boggles the mind to realize that stuff like Bonus Stage was ALREADY dead at that point. And yes, this is the first of the April Fools comics, not quite as big a tradition as the Christmas comics, but an enduring one none the less. Let’s all hope to God that Far Out There will be updating regularly again before this year’s joke rolls around. I do NOT want to have to come back and add a snarky additional comment to this in a few months)
Re: historical notes: when I first read them a week or two ago, I extrapolated that you’d be up to the Thanksgiving 2013 page on this site by April 1st 2020, based on an estimate of 43 pages transferred per week, though you seem to have slowed down since then.
FWIW, if my calculations are correct, you would have had to transfer over 105 pages per week after your original transfer of this page to be caught up in time for the 2020 April Fool’s joke. I think adding a historical note for that is better than burning yourself out trying to keep with such an absurd pace of transfers.
Yeah, I actually stopped and counted up just how many pages I’ve edited & re-posted since the start of the year, and while there’s still a long way to go, the amount I HAVE done so far was mind boggling. What’s more, I’ve been needing to focus more on finishing new Conventional Wisdom content recently, which is part of the reason the re-posting has slowed down. I cranked out the most Far Out There stuff when it was literally the only thing I was doing.
