Oh look! A sudden, drastic shift in both story and genre that is totally a real plot development and not an April Fool’s Day joke in any way!

Actually, this was April Fool’s idea number two. The first idea was to cut back to Trigger and Skye’s conversation. She would suddenly declare that she’s always loved Trigger and he’d be all happy… until he realized what day this is. But then I remembered that I don’t really like that kind of malicious “Oh, you wanted this? WELL TOUGH!” kind of prank. Also, since this little gag means we aren’t advancing the plot one way or the other today, I wanted to at least do something with more visual spectacle than two heads talking.

Speaking of visuals, this was a tough page to do because, despite the plural name, I’d never bothered to design more than one Mega Awesome Ranger. Suddenly I had to figure out what other Rangers might look like, and make it at least somewhat similar to the first one. I like that, despite the Power Ranger reference of a name, the Mega Awesome Rangers don’t look ANYTHING like a Super Sentai team. More like if Rob Liefeld had designed Mega Man.

But yeah, Happy April Fools day! We’ll be back to ACTUAL comics come Friday.

Oh, and lest anyone forget, you can totally buy a Mega Awesome Ranger shirt!

GAH! Almost forgot! New Voting Incentive!

(Historical Notes: I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it before, but that Mega Awesome Ranger shirt is the only piece of Far Out There merchandise I’ve ever actually seen another human being wear in person.)
