page 969 – this background brought to you by Forbidden Planet
YEP! It’s time to insert another random filler page to plug in a gap in the numbers, and I’m once again using it as an excuse to show off some characters we either haven’t seen in a while or, in one case, technically haven’t “really” seen at ALL yet. And also do some really cool glowy color lighting effects, that too.
Also, I do believe this is now officially the first new Far Out There comic to be drawn in 2021! I mean, yeah, there is that New Year’s page that went up on other sites because I wasn’t finished here yet, but that was still actually DRAWN back in December. We’re inching that much closer to things actually being live again!
You’re the one holding it, Vanderslice, and the one making the suggestion. All evidence shows that you should be the participant in the experiment to attempting to consume that “Molten, Radioactive Blobbeast” in a single gulp. You even have two people who I believe are more experienced Mad Scientists than you, Madam Ventricle and Kiki, to document the results.
You know, I didn’t even think about it as I was drawing this page, but I think this is also the first time I’ve ever drawn Castral & Iconal not drunk or running around screaming. They look so… almost normal!
Looking back through the tag, the closest I can find that’s currently updated is them on top of what is almost certainly a disco ball. They’re on top of something, so they’re not running around, they’re far in the distance, so we don’t know if they’re screaming or not, and they aren’t holding any booze, so we don’t know if they’re drinking. I mean, sure, they are probably drunk and screaming in that panel, but us reader’s can’t say that for certain.
Certainly anyone riding a disco ball can assumed to be drunk as a matter of principle. I’m pretty sure that we can assume that if these two are awake, they’re drunk. (And if they’re not awake…they’re probably still drunk). Luckily, they’re super-rich and had artificial livers installed made from incredibly rare and expensive Whilehusite.
Oooh, I love this show! it’s “FOT Missing Page Filler Theater 3000” with everybody’s favorite adorable host AVATAR! I try never to miss an episode. Now I’m kind of hoping you occasionally skip more page numbers accidentally on purpose.
