page 864 – well of course
I WAS just going to have Stilez refer to Layla as “the short girl” but, well, EVERYBODY’S short next to Stilez. Heck, she’s carrying two shorter girls around with her right now. It just felt weird to not have Stilez latch on to some other obvious feature to remember Layla by and, well, if you’re going to talk about Layla and obvious features…
Anyway, I was really hoping to have the Patreon Jenna comics started up again this week, but I just don’t have enough of a backlog built up to start updates again just yet. There IS a new blog post for $2+ patrons that’ll be of interest to Far Out There readers, especially since it’s related to today’s new Voting Incentive …which is actually about as far away from “new” as you can get.
OH! And before somebody asks why Stilez and Tax can’t just sleep in one of the empty rooms, I’m sure The Cap’n has very strict rules about passengers not messing around in unoccupied guest quarters. In fact, I bet you anything he keeps life support turned off to save energy. And Avatar’s room is probably kept like that too (heck, she’d probably prefer it that way), so that’s out. And since Captain Crosby’s not going to give Stilez and Tax a free room on general principal, that just leaves crashing with one of the other passengers.
EDIT: I’ve got another update to the Incentive/Patreon Gallery going right now, and this time it’s more of the Jenna Patreon comic! If you’re reading this before Wednesday evening, there should be a new page going live every 15 minutes (I have to stagger it so there’s time for me to write comments). If it’s after 7pm, it’ll probably all be up by now. Ether way, if you aren’t a patron yet, FOR SHAME. But also, here’s a chance to see more of what you’ve been missing!
(Historical Notes: There is, of course, a lot more questions about why Stilez couldn’t go SOMEPLACE else, because really it’s all about finding an excuse to squeeze all these characters into one room. There was also some additional discussion about Avatar’s room, which we mainly don’t see because I just don’t know what it’d look like. It’s another one of those things that I can only introduce once, and I don’t wanna waste the moment if I don’t have a really good idea to justify it.)
@ Hover-over text – Including Astrid? Really? I assumed that Astrid would be rounder, if only due to being more busty, as (if not more) curvy, and willing to show it all off in ways Layla isn’t willing. If you’re only counting the “main cast” (with that meaning those who show up for multiple story arcs for more than brief cameo’s), then of course she’s the roundest, she’s the only busty character among them.
@ Historical Notes: Avatar has a couple of rooms, one of which is tiny and primarily accessible on the external parts of the ship, just in case she wants to sleep outside in the vacuum of space. It’s kind of awkward to get in and out of, though, particularly in her usual garb, there’s nowhere to change into her Jim-Jams privately, and nowhere to put her normal clothes if she wears them over her Jim-Jams to take off before going to bed. Long story short, there’s a myriad of small reasons she doesn’t use it much, but would like to use it more.
Oh, I like this answer. Avatar WOULD be the only one Cap’n Crosby would allow to take up multiple rooms.
Also, while Astrid definitely has more Round Bits to draw than MOST characters, her face and hair are a lot more angular and pointy than Layla’s. And obviously, whenever anyone looks at Layla or Astrid, the first thing anyone notices is their face and hair.
