This comic involves drawing an elaborate network of large mechanical devices performing a complicated task… and also one cute girl hugging another. I think it aptly demonstrates which of the two plays to my strengths as an artist.

Speaking of art, I’m a bit annoyed that I used the Sudden Flash of Color trick in the previous page. I like doing that when a character busts out a new outfit, but it would have had a lot more impact if I’d saved it for the more action-pack page. Oh well, it’s not like this is the only occasion this arc will find characters trying out new looks (hint!)

Oh, and speaking of trying out new looks, that Voting Incentive I never got finished last week is finally up! So you get Tabitha fawning over TWO cute girls today!

…and just for the record, I seriously almost had this update ready to roll at 4:30, and it’s really bugging me than I couldn’t get it posted then. The page was done, all I had left was some color for the incentive… and then I nodded off and suddenly it was 10:30. DANG IT.

(Historical Notes: Oh, Past Me already covered all that stuff in these notes.  Woops.  I should really read ahead more often.  Also, that elaborate rig was totally NOT pre-planned, I just realized too late that I’d drawn Tabitha’s ship to look cool in space without thinking about how it would land.  That’s nothing new, The Exposition doesn’t really make sense as a thing that would land anyplace.  But it’s so big that we can sort of get around showing what exactly is holding it up when it’s not in space.  I couldn’t really use that excuse here, though, so out came the grabby arms!)
