This is one of those pages that aggravates me, or more accurately, WOULD aggravate me if I were experiencing it as a reader of this comic. Now, as the WRITER of this thing, I can just look at this page as a single step in a sequence of pages, and know in advance how an anticlimactic moment like that fits in with the greater sequence of events. But as a reader, just taking this in one page at a time? man, I would be SO aggravated right now! Teasing us with a chance to finally see more Stilez/Ichabod interaction, and it’s resolved with two like & a bouncy ball? COME ON! But, like I said, it’s one part of a larger sequence of events, and those events had to be set up somehow.

…and the worst part is, in a day or two, I just KNOW the clouds will part, the heavens will open, and I’ll suddenly realize exactly what I could have done to make this page be more satisfying as a stand-alone comic. That’s always the way.

But then I’ve got plenty of other irons in the fire right now. For one thing, I’m working out how to schedule that sequence of future events to sync up with the end of the month. Last year we had a nice, tidy cliffhanger before the Christmas break, and it’d be nice if I could pull that off again. And speaking of which, it’s already time that I got started on those Christmas pages (holy crap, is it really that late?). AND I’ve still got a bit of a pile-up over at Patreon to straighten out, what with Conventional Wisdom gumming up the works last week. Speaking of which, I finally did get a new Far Out There Patreon comic done yesterday, and will try to do an extra one to make up for last week. Also, I think we’re about due for another of those Far Out There Madlibs, don’t you?

And last but not least: New Voting Incentive!

(Historical Notes: My readership, or at least the ones who comment, obviously have different priorities than I do, because people were quite vocal in not caring that Stilez hadn’t destroyed much of anything lately.  Clearly I underestimated the general public’s desire to see a giant catgirl just be generally adorable for weeks at a time.  You’d think I’d know The Internet better than that.)
