I am SO over those gimmicky lighting tricks, man. Like, you don’t even KNOW…

Actually, I really like this page even without the in-universe justification to go back to shading the normal way. Originally, Tabitha was just going to suggest a way to modify the emergency lights so that they’d be easier on everyone’s eyes. However, throwing in the gag about Trigger’s diagrams being… technically imprecise gave way to the idea of Tabitha specifically suggesting something for Trigger to do so that he’d feel useful again. Even when it’s not HER children, Tabitha’s Momma Instincts won’t allow her to ignore an unhappy kid.

Speaking of throwing things in:the big book Ichabod’s hold was originally supposed to be a callback to the book The Cap’n was writing in back in page 35. At some point, though, I decided to have the ship schematics be Ichabod’s, because of COURSE he happened to have a giant print out of the ship’s technical details just lying around.

And now, some really annoying news: there is not new Voting Incentive… YET. Actually, I do already have the page drawn and scanned, but it’s already almost 9 AM, I’ve been up all night, and I’ve got work all weekend, so I kinda need to get some sleep at this point. Just keep an eye on the Facebook page or my Twitter and I’ll let you guys know when I finally get the Incentive finished and online… Or, you know, you could just vote every day all weekend until something new finally shows up. That works too 😀

(Historical Notes: Oh, don’t be so melodramatic, Past Me.  Once you learn how to do gradient layers and don’t have to do each and every shadow by hand, lighting effects will get a LOT more fun.)
