Far Out There

So, I actually DO want to comment of the page this time, but… I’m just too SLEEPY. This one just took a lot longer than it really had any business taking. Namely, I realized too late that I’d drawn Ichabod in his coat/scarf outfit (as seen in the Voting Incentives) rather than the one he’s been wearing in previous pages, so I had to fix that, and I was already running late to begin with and blah blah blah.

So yeah, I do like the finished product, so I’ll just leave it at that.

Well, that and New Voting Incentive!

So, here’s what I was going to say about the page before my brain failed on me:

This page was more fun to write than you might think from looking at it. It was an interesting creative exercise to figure out how they’d actually get the information Tabitha needs TO Tabitha with almost everything not working (and we’re not entirely past that obstacle yet)

What’s more, I like how well the dialog reflects everyone’s personality, even though nobody’s really saying THAT significant: Tabitha talks a lot, Trigger’s basically an excited puppy, Avatar’s a bundle of information, Ichabod’s already a step ahead of everybody, and Layla’s basically just doing her own thing. (It’s like that first scene of Reservoir Dogs where they basically spell out everyone’s role in the film via the small talk!)

(Historical Notes: In case you can’t tell, I just copy/pasted one of my latter comments rather than try to summarize it down here.  All the more room to comment on how weird it is to see Layla being all standoffish around Tabitha.  I’m so used to them being total BFFs that I forget how much work Tabitha had to put into getting past all of Layla’s defenses.  Also, you’re going overboard with the colors again, Past Me.  Know it off with that one yellow screen business!)
