Original note – May 05, 2008
I made a dumb mistake on this page, but it teaches a good lesson in the physics of a comic page. You’ll notice that Layla and trigger’s heads are WAY out of proportion with Ichabod’s in the middle panel (well, you will NOW anyway). This screwup happened because I wasn’t paying attention while laying out the page. Between the giant speech bubble and Ichabod’s torso, every obvious point of reference I could have had while drawing those heads was obscured by something. Without a common source of gravity to anchor them in place, the unconnected drawing were left at the mercy of the forces surrounding them. Thus, Ichabod’s head expanded to fill the vacuum in the top right, while Layla and Trigger yielded to the pressure of the speech bubble and compressed. That’s right, I really went that far to make myself sound smart after drawing heads the wrong size.

Oh, and just for the record: I’m not skipping out on the backstory because I just don’t know this time. I’ve got Vengeance’s history worked out in great detail. He’s just more effective as a mystery figure right now. Besides, there’s been WAY too much explaining in the comic so far.

(Historical Note: This is still coming, by the way!  I wasn’t bluffing!)
