Page 353 – Oh, right. Fish out of water and stuff
Two important things needed to be accomplished here. First, we needed to see that Jenna actually has some kind of interests and personality beyond “Megaweapon’s chew toy”. (ESPECIALLY after the potentially disturbing implications of the previous page)
Second, we needed a reminder that Trigger still doesn’t know much about the universe. Throughout the Mad Scientist Arc, we had a whole string of situations that were either tailor-made for Trigger to be competent in or so wacky that NO ONE would have known what to do in them. Once could almost forget that he still has ZILCH experience regarding normal, every day life.
Speaking of normal life, Animazement’s over, and I should be traveling back up to DC as you read this. HOPEFULLY there’s a new Voting Incentive up, but as I write this, I really have no idea. There’s only one way to find out! GO VOTE!
(Historical Notes: Actually, the REAL thing this page accomplished was establishing more excuses for me to indulge in future pop culture factoids that only I care about. Go on, Jenna! Give me an excuse to world-build!)
I have Trigger’s exact same reaction when RL people start talking about “social media”, despite not having been sealed in an underground bunker for the first dozen years of my life.
Methinks that, bunker or not, Trigger got a lot more healthy interaction with other human beings than a lot of us have in real life 🙂
That seems highly likely 🙂
Although, relevant to the current discussion, even though Layla and Dad blatantly ignored the “no contact” provision of their contract, they seem to have kept the part about not allowing any knowledge of outside current events(thawing!!), pop culture, society and so forth. So I’m back to identifying with Trigger again on that point.
