page 32 – The Strange Story of Avatar, Part 1
Original note – Mar 28, 2008
See, this is why mad scientists really shouldn’t be given any responsibilities.
And no, there’s no practical reason for Avatar to have those big Chobits ears. One of the mad scientists must have been a CLAMP fan, I guess.
Typos in panel 2: “sheilding” should instead be “shielding”, and inconsistent spelling of “whilehusite” or “whilehustie” – since it’s a fictional material that iirc is never mentioned again, idk which spelling to consider correct.
Side note: I don’t remember how many more strips it takes for the reveal of Avatar’s “official” acronym, but I asked ChatGPT to backronym her codename, and it gave me some cool alternatives:
A.V.A.T.A.R. – Axiomatically Valid Archive Transcending All Realms
A.V.A.T.A.R. – Autonomous Vault for Absolute Thought and Recollection
A.V.A.T.A.R. – Anamnetic Vessel And Transcendent Archetype of Remembrance
A.V.A.T.A.R- Audio Video Aether Temporal Augmented Recording
Actually, “Anamnetic Vessel And Transcendent Archetype of Remembrance” is surprisingly fitting.
