Page 309 – “Now go think about what you did”
…aaaaaaaaand we’re back. WHEW! It was a bit of a shock to go back to doing actual pages again, nevermind not having two dozen pages already scanned. I was able to get a BIT of a buffer built up this month, but I’ll still be scrambling a bit to cover some absences next month. Figures.
But you don’t care about that, look at THIS! It’s the green guy! And he’s got a name now! …and kids! I dunno if this counts as an Ascended Extra or what, but I needed SOME character we’d already seen, and he was the most fun to draw.
…not as fun as his to-be-named-shortly kid, though. Hehehe. Well, the hair was a bit of a challenge. See, my first instinct was to give him white hair, since Anime has taught us that white hair goes well with wildly unnatural skin-tones. It took me an embarrassingly long time to remember that we kind of already HAVE some green-skinned, white-haired kids, and adding more would just be confusing.
And speaking of THEM, it’s new incentive time! Assuming my experiment with the automatic picture loader thinggie goes well, there should be a fresh one up by the time you read this. Enjoy!
(EDIT: CRAP. Not only did it not go up automatically, I can’t get a custom incentive message to show up AT ALL now. Well, keep an eye on it, and I’ll try to get it working when I can)
(Historical Notes: I never actually did figure out how to get TWC to do a new Incentive without me manually switching things. I’m not sure if that’s because there is none, or just because I stopped trying to work it out. Anyway, remember what I said about Dr. Hector turning into a recurring character without me meaning it? Well, we have a sort of extended version of that happening here. Since I hadn’t thought to give the guy any kids before this point, I needed to explain why we never saw them at the convention. It was a very last-minute decision, though, and it never really made sense that Dr. Hector would bring Megaweapon with him in the first place if he wasn’t actually allowed to go to the con. In order to justify THAT, I had to imagine this convoluted scenario where Megaweapon’s Mom had to be kept out of the loop about him actually being punished, and then work out why that would even be a thing, which ultimately let to the sweet and innocent Augusta. I’m really way better at having good ideas when I’m trying to repair BAD ones than just coming up with ideas from scratch.)
