page 1253 – absolutely convincing retort
Frankly, there’s several different layers of Layla misdirecting here. Not only is she trying to avoid giving Tabitha any ideas, but she’s also trying to make us all forget the times she’s totally taken clothes very seriously.
But that odd note, we pause for Christmas! I’m afraid that, once again, I haven’t QUITE managed to get all of the pages for December finished up before the month starts, but I have gotten enough of a head start that getting everything up on time shouldn’t be an issue. So be sure to check back here on Thursday to see what this year’s Far Out There Christmas event is going to be! And ALSO keep an eye out for updates on when new stuff goes up on Patreon, because there’s actually a lot of Christmas Far Out There stuff heading that way too! In fact, not one but TWO new pages of non-holiday Far Out There stuff just went up over the weekend, and there should be more of those before next month is over, too!
And to think, some people actually try to RELAX over the holidays…
Layla’s been shown to seriously care about clothes two times, for two different reasons:
– The first was when she was buying a wardrobe, and caring about how other’s will perceive her, which currently can be said to relate to her social skills, her attractive appearance, and the fact that she doesn’t like being objectified as a hot girl.
– The second was when she wanted to seduce a rich dumbass (yes, Kevin does qualify) purely because of his wealth and relative age.
In that vein of thought, Vai and Hiro searching for clothes to wear to impress “teh pretty girl” is actually a good use of time.
I’m getting severe cognitive dissonance trying to imagine how a jester costume could ever look dapper.
Honestly, so long as you don’t include the hat and can make minor adjustments such as changing the colours, it wouldn’t be overly hard. I mean, I’m fairly certain that the purple shirt in Avi’s left hand is the Jester Costume Shirt.
And if you REALLY want to push it, you just need to have the right person wearing it. Just like a hot enough girl can make basically any clothing look hot with minor adjustments and some effort put towards acting hot, someone dapper enough may be able to adjust almost anything they’re wearing look dapper.
Remember also that Avi doesn’t really have any clue what he’s talking about, other than “whatever gets people to pay attention to me.” And, well, you can’t deny that he’d get people looking at him that way.
