page 1145 – Space Cooties
What’s the more amazing thing to bring up, here? Is it the fact that a final, colored-in draft of the page went up well before noon? Is it the fact that that, despite all the astounding lateness of last week, I DIDN’T have to push anything back or take a day off? Is it the fact that this page isn’t about food for once? No, I think the big thing to react to here is that WE’RE FINALLY SEEING SOME REAL FORWARD PLOT MOMENTUM! At long last, after literal YEARS of build, Mariska and her entourage are FINALLY gonna meet up with Ichabod and company! People will be in the same room as each other! Characters will be introduced! WE’LL FINALLY LEARN THOSE TWO KIDS NAMES!!! CAN YOU STAND THE SUSPENSE?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Actually, the REAL remarkable thing is probably that I managed to get this comic done after getting waaaaaaay too wrapped up in coloring this page. There is literally no reason why this scene needed to still be so dramatically lit, I was just having too much fun and couldn’t stop.
…unfortunately, I still don’t have the new Voting Incentive series started up yet. I’d HOPED to have it going by now, but all my energy over the weekend was poured into getting the regular update schedule back on track. It IS on the horizon, though!
(Historical Notes: Dang it, Past Me, stop acting like this is happening outside of your own control. I mean, yeah, it IS an endemic problem for long-running webcomics in general and Far Out There in particular, but I know for a fact that we COULD have been at this point weeks earlier if there wasn’t so much stalling in previous pages. But hey, cool Red/Blue lighting tricks! Yay!)
@ May: You spent the last part of the trip arguing with them about whether or not your body would be allowed to be dissected for research due to their experimentation on Plushies. You’re probably just as melodramatic as they are.
That’s why she’ll miss them! It’s probably comforting to be surrounded by people even louder than she is!
Well, she IS in training to be a Nitpicker.
An affinity for melodrama seems to be a job requirement, if the cast of the ’20 Christmas party is any indication of Nitpickers in general.
