Far Out There Looks At Christmas Lights – page 9
“I wear my suuuunglasses at Christmas…”
Okay, remember what I said about the trouble in matching up photos with drawn elements? Well, this one is a good example. The idea was to have these two Nitpickers with sunglasses to both be looking at that Santa with sunglasses, but it just didn’t turn out that way. If I drew them looking directly at the Santa, it took the focus off their own shades, and vice versa. Even if Past Me had gone inside and tried to get the picture from the opposite direction, I don’t think it would have worked without moving the Santa around to be at a different angle. Oh well.
Honestly, I think it would have worked for me if you had them outside a Christmas’d-Up Sunglasses Store. Then you’d also have a “These two shop at the same store, and hate knowing that fact” angle, as well.
I men, if we had a sunglasses shop in town for me to take a picture of, then definitely. These two most definitely don’t coexist very well.
That probably applies to most nipickers – heck, Ichabod and Mariska are lifelong friends and barely get along most of the time 🙂
Hovertext – I’m glad you said that before I assumed you had put in-jokes in the blurry sign text and I spent hours zooming in trying to figure out what they were!
If Blitz had, he could have replaced the hover text with the content he put on the sign.
If I’d actually replaced the text, I probably would have felt compelled to go rooting through all the previous comics that have mentioned musical acts in order to round up all those names, which inevitably would have wound up taking a LOT longer than anticipated.
