Bridget and Alphonse’s Horrifying Christmas – page 5
It’s a simple thing, but I absolutely adore the top picture. It just captures both their personalities so perfectly.
You know, I didn’t mention it earlier, but I kind of stumbled onto a really interesting idea here: what the heck IS this place where the Caligaris live? At first, I’d just envisioned their home as being a place where Dr. Caligari’s various creations (to say nothing of Tabitha’s) ran wild and had no other inhabitants. But that wouldn’t explain the existence of a location like the one introduced here. So I just though “Uh… okay, there USED to be a civilization here, and THEY built Santa Land.” It wasn’t until later than I stopped and wondered who that would have been, what could have happened to them, if Dr. Caligari was a native or not, and how involved he was in their downfall (if he was even involved at ALL) I honestly don’t know the answers to these questions right now, but I can’t wait to find an excuse to figure them out!
(Historical Notes: Yes, that’s right. One of the more enduring questions about Tabitha’s family and their backstory was thought up as a random brain fart for a holiday page. That’s the kind of intricately planned epic I’m composing here. I HAVE figured out a decent bit more about what’s going on with this planet, and I’d planned to have that Voting Incentive series about Young Tabitha tease a few details about it… but then all the website stuff happened, and as i write this all Voting Incentives are on hiatus. Hopefully as you read this in THE FUTURE, it’ll finally be completed and you’ll know what I’m talking about.)
