Far Out There

Geez, you’d think after a whole year of holiday comics being the only new stuff I did, I wouldn’t keep forgetting to announce these things ahead of time.  But NOPE!  Here we are again, a holiday page going up with nary a word of hype to precede it.  And just for the record: no, I did NOT forget it was Mother’s Day.  I’m a good son.  In fact, that card Blip’s holding is actually a scan of the real card I made for my Momma.  I just forgot to SAY anything about Mother’s Day.

Anyway, I very nearly had this year’s comic be another one of those “future holidays that only vaguely correspond with the real world event” comics like that one 4th of July comic, what with how we’ve kind of exhausted the in-universe Moms so far.  And in a way, I suppose we kind of still got that.  I wish I’d thought to add a second tube with a stack of glowing green balls stacked up inside, like those are the eyes that get spit into the paste right after it’s squirted into the mold.  Oh well.

Now here’s the big question: Does this extra page mean Monday’s update will still happen as scheduled?  Well, I already have page 1175 inked and scanned and partially edited, and even the Voting Incentive is already penciled, so working on this extra stuff didn’t interfere with any of that… but I DO kind of have a busy Sunday to look forward to.  With that it mind, it’s possible that we might, at the very least, have another lunchtime update instead of first thing Monday morning.  I dunno, it all depends on how things look twenty hours from now.  OH, THE SUSPENSE!
