page 1433 – Practical Design Suggestions
OKAY, I’M BACK. I’d hoped to have this whole page COMPLETELY finished before the convention started, but even just having the line art inked and scanned was a pretty good head start. I’ve actually already managed to get the first two pages of the next round of Conventional Wisdom done WHILE also working on this page. With that said, though, I’ll just go ahead an apologize in advance if things start to get away from me at any point over the next few weeks. I’m really making a concerted effort to get THOSE comics out in a timely manner again, and there’s a more than decent chance that my work flow over on THIS end might end up disrupted as a result. I dunno, we’ll see.
And speaking of a disrupted workflow: it wasn’t intentional, but this is surprisingly close to the conversations I have with myself when I want to slip in an extra comic that wasn’t part of the original set of rough drafts… like this page itself, actually.

May, you’re late to the party. If you wanted to suggest the food-based ship to be steampunk, you needed to bring it up with Tabitha BEFORE the building process started, not after it’s done. If you weren’t willing to contribute to the build, you don’t deserve to comment on the aesthetics.
Ichabod will probably have this exact conversation with May afterwards, and she’ll absolutely not understand what he’s talking about.
Silly May, the ship already has a theme – it’s the extremely rare niche “Foodpunk” where every functional thing is made out of food. Limit is one theme at a time.
Maybe she’s confused because her planet has bioengineered all plans and animals to grow gear-themed food items.
Oh man, THERE’S a visual just demanding to be drawn…
