An Avatar Christmas – page 24
Yes, I still think it’s funny that Alphonse is good at making stuff, but Bridget is basically only good at breaking stuff. And yes, I deliberately drew the Bridget one with my left hand to give it that extra bit of sloppiness. Though to anybody who thinks this whole page only exists because taking a picture of the pencil art is faster than inking and scanning and editing, it’s really not. If anything, drawing these was a lot MORE stressful than usual, since I wouldn’t have as much room to clean up any mistakes afterwards. And for the record, I DID wind up having to edit the photo anyway, just because it was so hard to strike a balance between decent lighting and getting the pencil to show up.
But enough about that. If you’re a patron, there’s still more Far Out There stuff that SHOULD be up on Patreon by the time this page goes live. And it’s not music-related for once! In fact, long-time readers may find the topic of this particular blog most interesting (and there IS a reason why I’m keeping this one behind a paywall instead of just throwing it out for everybody everywhere, tease tease)
See, this is an example of how people who are really good at something just don’t know how to be bad at it – because I will guarantee that Bridget’s “bad” drawing, drawn with your left hand, while trying to draw badly, is 100x better than what I, an actual completely artistically untalented person, could draw if I practiced for 100 years first. For one thing, it’s still obviously recognizable as Avatar, a feat I could never manage. *hangs head in shame*
