page 879 – well, it’s true
I… don’t really have a lot to add to this. I just needed a page I could draw relatively quickly, since I’m still trying to get all that Conventional Wisdom stuff squared away, so I just kinda started drawing. And then this page happened. Um… there ya go!
I’m pretty sure “Celebrity Dog House Remodeling” would turn out to be a real show if I actually bothered to look… which I didn’t. Some knowledge is just too depressing to seek out.
Oh, and since Photobucket seems to be cooperating today, check out the new Voting Incentive, which is VERY autobiographical.
(Historical Notes: Does it show that I was really trying to make up for a long stretch without any significant pop cultural references?)
@ Hover Text: She want’s enough peace and quiet to be satisfied, but not so much that she feels uncomfortable. Thus the background “grey noise” of a TV is perfect for what she wants.
We know Layla doesn’t actually like being alone, so she’d prefer to be someplace in the company of others. The problem is just that other people, ya know, DO stuff.
Even worse, other people do stuff other than what Layla tells them to do! The nerve of those other people!
Layla’s last comment seems like she’s directly insulting the author. Are you gonna let her talk to you like that?!
Yes. Yes I absolutely am. I know my place.
Isn’t part of Blitz’s job to make the things on the ship entertaining to us? Stupidity is highly entertaining.
Apparently “your mileage may vary” on that. Layla seems not to be entertained by it at all.
Layla’s directly impacted by the stupidity. Things that are amusing when seen from a distance are regularly annoying when they directly impact your actual life.
For example, aliens watching Earth could consider everything happening as a result of our current Covid Crisis to be hilarious, because they aren’t, and can’t be, even remotely impacted. Many of our politicians are doing outright stupid things, and that’s ignoring the entertainment value of watching people who are obnoxiously acting like having the crisis even minorly directly impact them is a personal insult from all who ask them to be reasonable human beings. For us living down here, however, the politician’s screw ups kill thousands of people, minimum, and it’s perfectly reasonable to want to hit the obnoxious people with a steel pipe acting as a Clue-By-Four.
