Wow, another LAAAAAAATE update. Sorry about this, guys. As I mentioned last time, Ichabod wasn’t originally going to be in this bunch of comics, meaning they had to be rewritten at the laaaaast minute. Well, I did that for this page, aaaaand the rewrite wasn’t very good, so I had to rewrite it a SECOND time. Go figure, being funny on command at 11:30 pm doesn’t work that well.

I do think it was worth it, though. I like that first panel a lot. The shadows don’t make a lot of literal sense (as we’ve already seen there’s no strong light source near the station) but it gives it a nice sense of scale. I also really like the subtle little suggestion of how long Avatar and Ichabod have known each other. We haven’t really seen anything about their pre-Trigger/Layla adventures, that’d be interesting to see more about. (And that’s not Nudge Nudge Wink Wink Artist Dropping Hints About The Future or whatever. I really hadn’t though about that much before.)

And, of course, Layla being aggravated is always comedy gold. Speaking of which, VOTING INCENTIVE!

(Historical Notes: That random comment by me sparked a rather in-depth debate over whether or not Avatar was already on board the ship when Ichabod arrived.  I’m STILL not entirely sure what the answer to that is.)
