Page 474: The story of Layla continues
Hey look! I drew all the “panels” separately again! …and the page was many hours late again as a result! man, you’d think that doing “flashback vision” in (mostly) black or white would save time, but not after the inking process takes four times as long. Which reminds me, I’ll bet top dollar that some really silly typos managed to slip into this page, seeing as how I wrote out this dialog at 6 am and all. Please, do NOT hesitate to point out anything I missed, it’s seriously the only way I’ll ever notice this sort of thing.
Anyway, I know this has been mentioned on other occasions, but Lil’ Layla really is the most impossibly adorable thing every created… although Drooling Baby Trigger does give her a run for her money.
…aaaaaaand then there’s the latest Killer Station of Deadly Doom, which is pretty much as far as you can get from cute right now. Enjoy your mood whiplash!
(Historical Notes: As much as I still love Lil’ Layla, I REALLY wish I’d given her a less difficult hairstyle. Those big braid things are a lot more troublesome than the regular twintails)
for these monochrome lineart-ish type strips, it looks like, compared to the original smackjeeves version, like they got scaled down with a bad scaling algorithm so that everything is super light, text gets kind of hard to read and hard to see drawing details, and in fact when comparing the two the dimensions of the ones here are slightly smaller, so maybe it really is a scaling issue, not sure if this was on purpose or not. I tried it in 3 different browsers and they all look the same.

OOOoh yeah, I hadn’t thought about that part… which I should have, because every time I post a black & white comic on Patreon the same thing happens there too. Heck, it was even a problem on THIS site before I got all the layout & image resolution settings to what they were supposed to be.
yeah, now that I go back and look, even before the b/w-lineartish strips it had the loss of scaling detail, it just wasn’t as noticeable. so i didn’t notice it. I guess you’ll have to start all over 😀
I might, but honestly there’s so much else I dislike about the art on those early pages, part of me wonders if it’s even worth the effort (I mean, it probably would be, but I need to worry about getting everything ELSE re-posted before I start RE-re-posting anything)
Poor Past-Blitz is off sobbing in a corner after all the harsh criticism of his art by Present-Blitz. Give that poor guy a break! It’s bad enough he’s stuck in the past! 😀
(meanwhile, in the future, Future-Blitz is typing up scathing criticisms of Present-Blitz while laughing evilly at the irony…)
The truly amazing this is, when I finally do get around to that second stage of re-re-posting, Present Me will have actually BECOME Past me!
Whoooaaaa 😮
**boggled**
😀
**insert humorous meme-like pic here**
actually, now that you’re free from The Man and his controlling rules, you could actually let us post pics in our remarks! or that might be too dangerous….
Yeeeaaaah, we’ll see. I’m not saying NO, but I’d have to feel a LOT more secure about the spam filters’ effectiveness first.
